Trimmings on a Cup - Red Gold
A perfect example of my love for working with different bodies of clay and my vision for my future work. This experimental piece steps further into the artistry and exploration of the clays texture, form, properties, and chemistry when combined in different ways.
As a ceramicist, my hands are always wet and full of slip. The texture created by the small fragments of bare clay across the outer walls of the vessel brings resolution to that issue.
This piece was fired on small pebbles of wadding with the intention to glaze over the bottom sgraffito design with clear which will protect it from wear and tear.
