Hummingbird Incense Burner Commission - Raw
This piece was a commission project that honors the Mayan Nahual I'q, represented by the mystery of the hummingbird. It carries the energy of the numeral Tonal 3, which is seen with its three base feet as well as the three "T" symbols along the wall of the burner, which represents the I'q glyph illustration.
The beautiful incense burner flaunts a delicate hummingbird decorative knob for the lid. The entire piece was hand burnished resulting in a very tight grit texture once fired to Cone 6.
Clay Body: Speckled Buff (Aardvark)
Glaze: None - Burnished Raw Clay
NOTE:
Although items are stoneware, they can get EXTREMELY hot. The heat of burning any material, even that of a small tealight can pass through and melt or ignite other surrounding flammable surfaces, as well as result in burns to skin, and release toxic chemicals/fumes.
Candles should NEVER be left unattended. Keep away from flammable materials/objects, and use in well ventilated areas.
